The Influence of Astro Boy in Anime

Many kids nowadays are so engrossed in watching animé on the television, the Internet or on their DVD players. Some animé shows like, Naruto, Samurai X, Bleach and One piece can even compete in popularity against Western-made cartoons.

Most animé cartoons were created in Japan, where they were almost always based on Japanese comics called Manga. Most animé stories are about a person with special abilities who is forced to fight and battle other people with powers who may be stronger than himself. With each new enemy more powerful than the previous one, the protagonists of animé shows must struggle to become stronger and develop more power, while having to handle other issues like love, anger, hatred, and fear.

One of the first animé shows to ever exist was Astro Boy which had its birth in the 1960s. It is the story of a robot boy who can fly because of the jet engines in his feet. He lives in a futuristic world where robots and humans co-exist. He also has lots of superpowers that he uses to fight berserk robots as well as robot-hating humans. One of Astro Boy's most important skills is his ability to feel human emotions. The show was first aired in the 1960s and stopped, but it made a comeback in April of 2003. Last 2009 , a full-length movie was made based on the original animé, using CGI and 3D animation.

Despite the fact that Astro Boy is an old animé, many fans of the genre still love it. In fact, there is a huge demand in the market for Astro Boy items like bags, toys, stationery, and video games.

From the time Astro Boy was introduced to the public, there has been no end to the popularity of animé shows. Now they are all around the Internet, TV and other media. Truly, Astro Boy's spirit lives on.
